Some banks charge high monthly service fees if you don't maintain a minimum balance. If you can't keep the required minimum, ask if there are other options, or consider another bank. You may find that if you electronically deposit your paycheck, or only bank on-line and with their ATMs, the bank may waive the monthly fee. Also, there are "On-line" only banks that not only have free checking but pay a higher interest on savings accounts because they have a much lower overhead than their "brick and mortar" alternatives.

Quick question about the process.
I have five creditors set up in my CareOne account currently, and from what I've gathered, I should make the normal payments on them at least for this month. But my biggest concerns are when will I know if the proposal is accepted and can I put off the payments to CareOne in the time in between proposing and acceptance?
